This time we would like to bring you a variation of the Ferrari 250 GT Scaglietti Tour de France of the Marquis de Portago that was our reference CJ-35. This variation belongs to the vehicle with chassis number 0563 GT, which most significant differences compared to our previous reference was, first of all, that this model featured a rear boot (the other one lacked it), and in second place, as a consequence, the lack of a external gas cap, since it was placed inside the rear boot. This unit was sold by Ferrari S.p.A. to the Racing Sport S.r.l. team from Turín in September of 1956. Just after that they got the request to rent the car from Jacques Peron, french driver who lived in Niza whom wanted to drive that year’s Tour de France. That time, and without being used to the car, he ended in a commendable eight position. After such a promising result he kept using the car and competed in 1957 in several races with different positions (see table). The variation we have chosen for this reference is the one from the VI Tour de France 1957, where he ended in a honorable fifth position in the general ranking, being accompanied by the copilot Burggraf. We hope you enjoy this colourful version of such wonderful car. Just as a matter of interest, the real car was sold in 2009 by the company RM Auctions for more than 3 million american dollars.
