This car was officially presented at the Paris Motorshow in 1959, with Pininfarina's design coachwork and the experimented V12 Colombo motor The Ferrari 250 GT SWB was actually a shorter, lighter and more powerful version of its predecessor, the 250 GT LWB. It always counted with very quick drivers along 1960 and 1961. It contested in a big amount of races, in direct competence with Aston Martin and Chevrolet in the same category. We must highlight its victories in Gran Turismo from '60 and ' 61 in the 24 hours of Le Mans . However its sporting life was short, since the announcement of several new competitors, specially Jaguar with its E-Type Lightweight, made that at Maranello they took the deccision to build a even more competitive car, the fantastic Ferrari 250 GTO. It is told that they counted the units of the SWB in order to achieve the minimun amount of production that the Federation demanded and confer it the "O" from "Omologato", thought both models hardly had something in common. This time we bring you the Berlineta SWB with chassis number 2735 GT, painted in the classic dark blue with white stripes from the Rob Walker team. It was driven by Stirling Moss, who won the Goodwood's RAC Tourist Trophy in 1961, ahead of Mike Parkes, who had the same car. With this reference we finish the Berlineta SWB's saga, which so good reception has had between our brand's collectors.
